Q: How is my crystal engraved?
A: When we receive your image, we first check to make sure it is good enough to process. Then we refine your image to ensure we get the best results in the engraving process. Next, we convert your image to a cloud of many thousands of microscopic dots. Our laser engraving machine then burns those microscopic dots into the heart of the crystal.
Q: Is my picture good enough?
A: One of the keys to a beautiful crystal is a high-quality photo. Photographs taken with a dedicated digital camera generally work better than those taken with a smart phone camera. However, the latest generation smart phones can take very high-quality photos. Try to have your subject on a neutral background. Contrasting colors tend to work the best. If you are scanning an old photo, there may be additional restoration charges.
Q: What format can I use?
A: We can take just about any picture format that is available. Although we accept most files, the higher quality the better. Files that are smaller than 300 dpi will generally not make good crystals. Files larger than 5 mb will take a long time to upload. If we are engraving a solid object for you, we can use .obj and .stl files.
Q: Can I include text in my engraving?
A: Yes you can add text. You can select the size and the font of the text you wish to include. We normally place the text directly under your image in the center of the crystal.
Q: How is my crystal shipped?
A: All of our orders ship UPS Ground unless you provide special shipping instructions. Don’t forget, all orders sent to the contiguous 48 US states ship free.
Q: How long will my order take to ship?
A: We strive to have your order processed in three to five business days. Shipping is normally an additional two to three business days in the contiguous US. We will send you a notification by email when your order ships.
Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: We accept MC, Visa, Discover, and PayPal.
Q: Is it safe to order online from your website?
A: Yes. Our site is secured through a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate. You can also see the small padlock symbol in our address bar and our web address beginning with https:// (the s stands for ‘secure’) encryption. This technology is a data-scrambling technology that keeps crooks from stealing your personal financial information.
Q: How do I order my crystal?
A: When you have selected the image you wish to have laser engraved in crystal, the next step is to decide which size crystal to use. (link to page) Then, decide if you wish to add any text. After that simply go to our online order form and place your order. Or, if you wish, you can simply pick up the phone and dial 1.800.516.6393 where one of our friendly sales staff will happily take your order or answer any of your questions.
Q: What happens if I don’t like my crystal?
A: At Into3D, we understand that you have entrusted us with engraving a special photo for you, so we treat each and every image as if it were our own. However, if you feel that we have not met your expectations, let us know and we will do everything in our power to make you happy. Contact us and let us know what you do not like about your crystal and what you would like us to do to correct it. We will then send you a prepaid return label. Upon receipt, we will replace the crystal free of charge (one time). If you are still unhappy with our work or simply do not wish to keep it, we will gladly refund your money minus a 25% customization fee.
